Vietnam's economy grew by 7.4% year on year in real terms in the first quarter of 2018, marking the best start to the year in a decade. Strong momentum from the rebound in growth in 2018, particularly in the second half of the year, has led to a broad acceleration in economic activity. Robust growth in manufacturing, retail sales and tourism thus far are in line with The Economist Intelligence Unit's expectations, set out at the beginning of the year. As the pace of growth will gradually abate, the full-year GDP growth forecast will be 6.7%.

Vietnam’s chemical industry growing impressively with annual growth of 12% is one of the key economic sectors and prioritized to fulfill the needs of other industries and the total economy.
