Vietnam is top of the list of potential and attractive locations for investment in Asia. Vietnam joined the World Trade Organization in January 2007 following more than a decade-long negotiation process. Vietnam became an official negotiating partner in the developing Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement in 2010.
For 2016 as a whole, GDP grew 6.2%, according to data released by the General Statistics Office (GSO) of Vietnam, marginally overshooting FocusEconomics panelists’ forecast of 6.1% growth and marking a deceleration from 2015’s 6.7% rise.
